Andreia Gomez’s unique fusion of electric guitar and full-on psytrance is truly awe-inspiring. Explosive riffs, mesmerising solos and intricate melodies weave through psychedelic soundscapes with earth-rumbling beats to form the signature sound of Soul Scientist. A virtuoso guitarist, producer, and DJ with a drive to push sonic boundaries, she is one of the UK’s most innovative psytrance artists.
Her rapid rise in the scene has her sharing stages with Ajja, Avalon, Talamasca, Mad Maxx, and Burn In Noise, performing at major events including Boomtown Festival, Tribal Gathering, Existance Festival, and Altered States. She began by remixing tracks from established artists to incorporate live guitar, before producing her own original material. Her first official release, String Synergy a collaboration with Xenoben on Phantasm Records, topped Beatport’s psytrance chart and remains one of the label’s best-selling tracks, leading to a deal with the legendary label for her future releases.
Born in Portugal, she moved to England in her late teens to pursue her musical dreams. Founder of the prog-metal band MIND, she served as songwriter, lead guitarist and producer, influenced by bands such as Tool, Dream Theater and Rage Against the Machine. Discovering Ozric Tentacles and Shpongle marked a shift toward psychedelic music, Eastern-influenced guitar, and the integration of live performance with electronic music. Her pivotal turning point came when she fell in love with psytrance. By combining DJing and live performance, she brought together her musical influences, love of technology and life philosophy into a stage act that utterly embodies her essence.
Andreia sees music as a gateway to deeper states of consciousness. Inspired by her own experiences, she adopted the stage name Soul Scientist, reflecting her belief in music’s power to alter brain chemistry and unlock transcendental experiences.
